Terms & Conditions

Draft content. This page contains placeholder wording that is being finalised and should be reviewed before relying on it.

These are draft terms prepared for review. They must be checked by a suitably qualified adviser before launch.

About these terms

These terms apply to orders placed with Alif & Stone. [Add legal business name and contact address.]

How ordering works

  1. You create a design on our website and send us an enquiry through WhatsApp.
  2. We confirm the details and send you a proof of the engraving.
  3. A contract is formed when we confirm your order in writing after you have approved your proof. Sending an enquiry does not create a contract.
  4. Payment is arranged once your proof is approved. Engraving begins after approval and payment.

Prices

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include [VAT status — confirm]. Delivery is charged at the price shown for the delivery option you choose at the time of your enquiry. We will confirm the total before you pay.

Personalised items and cancellation

Personalised slates are made to your specification. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the usual 14-day cancellation right does not apply to goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised. You may cancel before you approve your proof. [Confirm your policy for cancellations after approval but before engraving.]

Natural materials

Slate is a natural stone. Variations in texture, colour, thickness and edge are part of its character and are not faults. The website preview is an illustration and is not an exact representation of the finished piece.

Proofs and accuracy

Please check your proof carefully — including spelling, dates and any Arabic text. We engrave exactly what you approve.

Faulty or damaged items

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected. If your item arrives faulty or damaged, contact us within [X] days. [Describe your remedy process.]
